Examines the current status of people with disabilities in the region with regard to tranining and employment within the context of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Disabled Persons) Convention, 1983 (No. 159) and the Biwako Millennium Framework for Action Towards an Inclusive, Barrier-Free and Rights-Based Society for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific.
Explores examples of good practices within the region and from other parts of the world that succeed in promoting the training and employment of people with disabilities. Develops recommendations to implement the intent of
ILO Convention No.159 and the Biwako Millennium Framework.
